Hello everyone i have a quick question, i just changed my rod and main bearings, torqued everything back to specs,get the engine back together only to reveal that its still knocking if anyone could please help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

welcome to the forum, if you didn't find a bad bearing you needed to keep checking till you find the source. It could be a wrist pin on a piston

Consider getting a mechanic's stethoscope from the auto parts (Lisle is a good brand). It could be really helpful in locating the source of the noise.

Warped flexplates and loose flexplate bolts sound like rod knocks. Does the knock get louder with RPM increase? If it does it's something that rotates with the engine. If it's a constant speed sound, its nothing catastrophic.

Can't be the flexplate, its brand new not really sure what it is but im just about at my breaking point with it

what engine are we talking about ? was there any machine work when installing the new bearings ? was the crank turned under size ?

And it sounds as if its coming from the front of the engine...somewhere between the timing cover,cylinder 1,or cylinder 2 not really sure tho...
