I've had it happen to me. A guy shoved a gun in my face and said "You know what it is". I just punched the gas, got my window shot out. My buddy just had someone back a tow dolly under his 86 Monte Carlo SS last week while he was at the grocery store. I definitely have theft coverage on my car, thats for sure.
Man that's sad. I guess since I moved out of Milwaukee a couple years ago I forgot how wild the inner cities can get. Glad you were not hurt.

Good luck, summertime is almost here. And if ATL is anything lke Milwaukee, the hotter it gets, the crazier it gets.

Since i pulled the 80 in the driveway< i'v met two of my neighbors that iv lived 75 yards away from for 5 years... they both owned g-body in high school. so we kinda got a G body reunion tour in the works... And when we hit up Sonic, the younger crowds generally scoff in a confused manner as if they dont really know why they scoff... " Really its a Malibu??.. Huh.. looks like a lowrider".

I've never had anyone talk smack [well, to my face anyway]. My biggest problem [especially since I put in the big block] is I cannot take it anywhere and leave it to have anything at all done to it [like AC service, etc.] because they just HAVE to go see what it will do? I do most everything myself but there have been a few reasons over the years to take it somewhere. Hell, even when it had the no power motor, I took it back to the dealer one time for a warranty issue that was "no driving required" and some mechanic had to go test drive it, pulled it out on a wet street in front of the dealership, floored it, and put my nearly new 442 clear sideways in on coming traffic. I almost killed the idiot but fortunately the service manager intervened and sent him home. Not sure if it was permanent or just for the day but I never went back.

I think I posted here already, but I never really have anyone talk sh*t about my car aside from the obligatory "Buick V8? What the hell for?" . I guess it's because it's not a rusted out pos.

Couple weeks ago I was out driving with the wife. We were making a left turn and a guy in a beat up van heading the opposite way leans out his driver window and yells "hey, that looks like sh*t my friend" (my cutlass has 20s on it), I gave him a thumbs up and yelled back "thank u buddy" and kept on going. I'll admit I bothered me for a min but my wife talked some sense into me and said don't let it bother u the car is for u not anyone else as long as u like f*** what anyone else thinks. Well put wify!

Thank the big guy in the sky for our wives! My wife too has had to calm me down a couple times when people said ridiculous expletives about my cutlass! No it's not factory, no it's not perfect (should be close after resto woohoo!), yes it's loud as hell, but it's my vision of what i want in a cool car and nobody can take that away from me!

I drove my regal down to my unit this past weekend. What I noticed was that people would talk down until they got in it or learned what you were doing with it. Everyone of those that laughed at my car who road in it had a big *ss smile on their face once they got in and I fired it up.

The only guy who didn't come around on it isn't a car guy at all. A literal point A to B guy. A type who doesn't even understand why anyone would want to drive around an old car of any make at all. But I don't worry about it. No matter what I drive a personality like that would never appreciate it.

I'm telling you guys in the last 10 years from when I owned my first gbody to my current the opinions and stigmas of owning our cars is changing. I used to get made fun of a lot for liking mine. Now, Lots of people from different backgrounds complimenting me on my car and that it's cool. And mine isn't event that nice!

I'm 24 and no one my age likes old cars. They like the new foreign cars that draw their attention. They don't understand old American muscle or carbeurated or ever want to even work on a car...

In reality our cars are replacing the chevelles, novas, GTOs , Ect... they are very hard to find not to mention very expensive. It's even getting more difficult to find a well put together g body anymore.

Regardless I'll say it and say it again, LETS LINE THEM UP !!
