X2 - living on borrowed time with the 7 5/8 rear. That should be 26 splines axles and they are like tooth picks. If you want to stick with the 7 5/8 10 bolt then you need the 28 spline units with a Moser or Strange axle - especially if you can get it to hook, which sounds like you're on your way there. And then you need to plan on a tear down and bearing kit, at a minimum, annually. And find yourself a housing girdle.
