I whipped up a set of heavy duty wheel chocks for at the boat ramp. A trucker friend donated them and all it will cost me is a fishing trip. This time I used chains instead of rope since they are pretty big. Next chance I get I will take them and test at a ramp. If they can hold the wagon when I power back, then I can rely on them to hold me in neutral. That way I get a "third foot" so I can eliminate the brake pedal from my launch routine. When I hauled the boat last week I noticed that when took my foot off the brake I rolled back slightly until the 4x4 chocks stopped me, but I don't trust them, they are small. That let me concentrate on the clutch and gas pedals and I crawled right up the ramp easily. If these heavy duty jobs work out then I will definitely keep the manual trans.

replaced my intermediate steering shaft on my red 79 with one from a jeep.

from the local pick n pull i scored a rear diff with brakes from a 96 lt1 z28. it came from an automatic car, so i was thinking it was a 2.73 or 3.23 gears. turned out to be a posi with 3.73s. this car must of been really nice before the engine fire gutted the interior and under hood.

drove it to work today. With the colder weather I started messing with the choke. If I set the spring tight enough to almost close at cold then it doesn't want to kick off the high idle cam when warm ! If I set it just a couple degrees back then the choke flap stays open and it wont idle cold.

It did this last year as well so I changed the choke spring, now seems I am having the same issues. :/
