Most of the mock-up work has been done so started taking it back apart to do the painting of the frame and bottom side. Started filling the holes in the firewall to get smoothed out. Working on a way to keep the truck up with the suspension and rear being taken out.

Quick question: Why put a passenger set in it? Will you ever drive it on the street or have a passenger with you when you race it?

Couple of reasons - First the Grand Kids love to ride in the car when they are at the track (warm-up) My Son drives and his wife rides up to staging with him. I think it just looks better and a little more stock (seats will be covered) and it might make a few shows. When we have a track rental they will let a passenger ride but has to be slower than 13.00.

That's pretty cool for your grandkids. I bet they get a lot of enjoyment out of that. Plus, it's probably fun for you too.

Didn't like the way the mock-up engine came out, we had notched the k member for the oil pan to fit. I think the k member is going to get cut out.

Solved the problem of supporting the truck - built some legs on rollers, worked well. Also did some whacking on the k member and happy with those results.

Real nice day today - I've already shoveled 7-8 ins of snow and they say it's still going to snow most of the night. Good reason to stay in the garage and work on the truck. Got the doors off and went to work on the firewall and cleaning the frame.

In a drag-specific car, do you replace the body mounts with solid bushings before welding in the roll cage?

Best time, I did, although there might be some wiggle room. I'm hoping to raise the back of the cab ever so slightly to help me get the headliner back in after painting.
