when we raced metrics ( g bodies) we had to have cast iron manifolds so we used truck manifolds that have 3 studs, they are large and breath better than the G body stock manifolds and had no EFE valve so each manifold use the same gasket

These folks sell eliminator spacers. See if one will work for you. If you go to different manifolds, you'll have to modify your exhaust. If you don't mind modifying your exhaust, maybe go with some shorty headers.

Thanks, I did find that website previously but figured just removing the flapper and shaft was cheaper. I don't mind having to modify the exhaust, the system as it sits seems to hang a bit low so I'm trying to get it tucked up a bit higher if at all possible.

I used 3-bolt truck manifolds from a 74 Chevy truck with 2-1/2" dual exhaust. You'll have to change the flanges to the 3-bolt style, but they got me a 14.67 quarter in a SBC 400. Never blew a header gasket - never had any.

Thanks guys for the info about the truck manifolds, wish I had inquired about this before I purchased and cut up the 2 bolt flange downpipes!

Here is the pics of my 2 sets of manfiolds I picked up if I'm 100% on not using the headers

These are the over port 3 studs. The guy at the swap meet said they came off a car. It has a vacuum EFE that is untouched.

These are the one I will be using. These were on a mid '70s car. I moded the EFE for these since the spring is shot.
