Update, talked to my buddy with the paint booth last night, he bought a new house and is fast tracked to move. His booth is at his current house, which will go on the market after Christmas. Sooooo, I'll be blocking the wagon out this weekend and during next week if needed, an will get it to his place in the coming weeks for paint. Hopefully this all works out, it's been a long time coming!

That's good news, Jim... the news we've all been waiting to hear.
I hope you're able to coordinate this before the holiday insanity sets in.

Good luck, buddy.

Well, last weekend I was able to block out the slicksand. I had to put another layer of 2K to get it all one shade and smooth, so, I masked it last night and today, and just finished laying down what should be the last round of primer. I'll 600 grit wet sand it and then in 2-3 weeks paint.

Jim, that's great news....we are both on about the same schedule for paint brother! Got my cutlass jambed on wednesday, and spent all yesterday putting it together (pics in my build thread)! I, as others will be pumped to see paint on the wagon for sure!
Side note...got my hood spring installed but it seems a bit weak on popping the hood up enough to grab it. I was thinking about adding some spacers to give it more tension. Your glass hood has the steel frame right? Any advice is appreciated.

Yes sir it is, hopefully be in color by Christmas, we'll see. I have been 600 grit wet sanding the 2k, it turned out fantastic. Still have more to do, but it will look great.

My hood is all glass, the frame and all. Now, I am using hood pins, and I have LOSI rc truck shock springs on the pins to give it some added pop. The shims may work for you though, maybe try some fender washers under the mount to see if it works then come up with a final solution.

I bought some sh*t from racetronix on their black Friday sale, 2 new turbine fuel pumps for the wagon, I only have one walbro 255lph in there now. I'll tackle the install after paint over the winter. The car runs on one, and the second comes on at whatever boost I program in the PCM. With the 1/2" SS feed line I'll have plenty of fuel.

Sweet hell yeah Jim! Maybe that's where I'm having the minor issue of the hood popping....my glass hood has the steel frame. I thought about using the stock spring but if it was too strong and cracked the freshly painted hood i would probably sh*t myself, then cry lol!
I don't think you will have a fuel supply issue with 2 pumps lol! Hell my one A1000 is good for 850-900hp under boost with efi so you will be set buddy.
That roof is looking slick, keep hammerin man....the wagon will be covered in color soon it looks like. That would be a nice xmas gift to yourself! I would love to have mine painted by then but hell, who knows. Probably be close to feb since we have to wait for the booth to be completed.

Well, Uncle Sam has kept me busy the last 14 days, so no progress. I order and received the inner and outer dew sweeps from repops. they will work, not OEM, but will work. I need some pictures of the rear outera on a car, I forget how they fit.

I also ordered the correct carpet, and bought the paint. Trying to lock in a date for paint. The holiday's are making it difficult.

Small update. I had a 3 day weekend, so I got into the shop and got some stuff done. I finished sanding the car down in preparation for paint. A lot of blocking and guide coat, but it looks great. I ran the washer squirter hoses, and found out the pump is bad. I bought a new turn signal stalk for cruise control, but bought the wrong one. And finally, I started installing the lightning rods. I put the hole in the transmission tunnel for the cable, fed the cable through, and hooked it up. I need to customize the shifter floor plate still to properly position the shifter, but it should be done soon.
I received my new carpet too.
