...on a Motor that never came stock in a G-body Regal....

It isn't like you bought a Stock V8 Regal, bolted on aftermarket Cam, intake, carb, and rocker arms and ran 11.20's. That has never happened, ever.

There are lots of V8's from other cars someone could port the heads and add cam carb, intake, headers, etc. bolt it into a Regal and run 11.20's but I can't think of a G-body regal stock V8 where this is possible. Turbo 6, sure. V8, very tough trick.

Accurate? Yes.

But, I am pretty sure we are Winter-time BSing here. However, there is no mention on the specs of the cam/headers/carb or that they are augmented by spray or an aggressive set of gears/loose converter/transbrake.

Most people like to think they are on a episode of Street Outlaws and have a secret combo, but fail to realize that no one really cares.

In the 1/8th perhaps?

Now I'm in the process of fixing my no traction problem but my 400HP/500lb.ft. BBO 442 gets me 13.4/103 in the 1/4. Traction should get me about a second everything else being equal.

I must be doing something wrong . . .
There is also a Cad 500+ ci Regal with ported heads and a big cam, converter and 3.73 gears that ran mid 12's. Yes it is missing second gear but has to be putting out 600 ft/lbs of torque! I bet the chassis isn't stock either on that 11 second car.

I'm just sayin'... the only 350 that came stock in a G-body Regal was a Diesel. I'm pretty sure bolting on aftermarket Cam, intake, carb, and rocker arms to this motor will not net 11.20's, ever. Diesel 350 heads are not known for their flow.

Now if the "Stock 350" came out of a Corvette or Camaro, and the car was no longer streetable, 11:20's wouldn't be impossible. With a Stock G-body Regal V-8, this would be impossible with those mods.

With a Turbo V-6 and 100% stock motor, maybe 10.7 is possible before you run so much boost something bad happens, but the Stock regal V8's are very low potential motors.

Wow - everyone is calling foul without even asking. As I said it is a stock block 350 chevy not bored (L-82) chevy 2.02 iron heads (yes they've worked on) comps flat tappet 306s cam, Vic Jr w/ 750, TH 400 w/ 4000 stall, ford 9 w/ 4.30 thru the mufflers. Here is a vid from the No Box Bonanza @ Norwalk this summer, it was a 90deg day and you can see I was dialed @ 7.21 holding(1/8th)

Why not offer up this information in the first place, as opposed to fishing for reactions? You created this monster - not us. The cam is huge and the stall matches. Nothing surprising here, it is a combo that works okay.

And, like I said: there is always more to it than meets the eye.

A big mechanical cam, 4000 stall and 4.30 gears, not an interstate cruiser, set up for one purpose. I am sure worked big valve factory casting sbc heads must push 250 cfm without much trouble?

Its all good. We aren't crying foul, we are just saying that is in no way shape or form a "stock" motor for a G-body Regal. I missed where you said it was a Chevy Small block (because you were pretty vague about that).

Some 16 year old kid reading this forum may get the idea he can buy an '83 Buick Regal with a factory V8, bolt on an "aftermarket Cam, intake, carb, and rocker arms" and duplicate your efforts and that isn't going to happen. Ever.

But, but, but... HOTROD Magazine and Car Craft said I could.

I have a 17 year old son that believes everything he reads, but when I tell him something he looks it up on his phone to verify the internet agrees with me.

I should edit Wikipedia before telling him anything.

Well looking at that video, SRT8 vs Vette somthing went wrong with that jeep. It should of spanked that Vette off the line and at the end. How do i know i have one, 07 since new. Mine is still stock and run 13.0 to 13.1 all day at the track not bad for a heavy brick. I won more races on the track and street and those cars had more power than my jeep. You can have 1000 hp under the hood but you need to put to the ground with very little wheel spin if not what good is having all that power. Thats whats great about the Jeep SRT8 no wheel spin and all the power to the ground and takes off like a rocket. Not starting a pissing contest just giving facts. I do still have my 84 Hurst/Olds.
