Hope everyone is having a great holiday and hoping you have a great New Year. Been plugging away at the Sonoma, replacing the front A arm bushings wasn't a fun job but once I made up some special tools it wasn't to bad. Got everything cleaned up and ready for paint, just need to run the rear brake line. Hopefully it will be fun from here on out.

It's just too cold here to try painting, only 13 deg today and I'm not painting with the heater running. Did find a new rear end I couldn't pass up so we will be now running a 4.56 gear

Made up a little paint booth with visqueen and a small fan to draw out fumes and overspray - ready to hit it.

Wowza. That truck is CLEAN. If I were to drag a truck, it would be on the ground....lol, I used to have a bagged 97, until my evil ex-wife sold it while I was on military duty.
What was the cost savings for doing the CalTrac versus a regular 4-link and coilovers?

The truck was super clean - it was like taking a new car apart, didn't brake any bolts, screws, or connections. The truck will have 2 in drop spindles on front and a 3 in drop in the back. It's kinda hard to give a cost savings for CalTraxs because there so many versions or ways to set it up and the same for 4-link. If I were to go 4 link I would have used and S&W back half and had over $3000.00 and a lot of work in it. I'm going w/ a split mono spring set-up which is less than half of that and basically a bolt in.
