So I bought two Monte Carlo SS'. One 85 that's wrecked in front with current tag/title and an 86 parts car that kinda runs but no title. I'm not a wealthy guy so buying a super nice one was not in the budget. I have lots of SS parts in my attic and between both cars, there's enough nice parts to build a good car. I bought these from fellow member Bar50. He lives not too far from me. I also got all the 87-88 rear body parts (tail lights, extensions, bumper cover and 2nd design spoiler in on the deal. He treated me good and we were both comfortable with the price. I'm not sure when I'll actually start on these cars. It may be spring or summer. Got to finish my house remodel so the wife is happy. I've owned, built, and raced a bunch of Monte SS'. Plans are an aluminum headed small block with 125 shot of nitrous and a turbo350 trans. Probably go back white with a new repro interior from Dixie Monte. I have a set of 17x7 and 18x8 Coddington Crown Jewels going on with Bell Tech 2"drop spindles and UMI 2" drop rear coils.

Which body are you going with? T-tops or hardtop?

Smart finishing the home remodel first. A peaceful house is a happy house! lol

Good luck with the restoration. Looking forward to seeing a "fellow 85" back on the road if that becomes the main car you hot rod.

Looking forward to your build. Kind of curious as to why you're not keeping an overdrive transmission in the car. I have an '84 SS, and I'm looking forward to getting an overdrive transmission in the car, so its more comfortable to drive on the highway.

The 86 is the only one with a motor/trans. It has a turbo350. I already have a built turbo350 with brand new stall in my shed. This car is going to be more of a street racer than a turnpike cruiser
