You, my friend, are an impossible dreamer
Keyword "look". From the pictures, they don't look bad. But there are no pictures of the underside, of the framerails, of the engine compartments in either car, etc. From the 14 pictures he provided, the worst thing body wise I can see is the rust on the front edge of the hood on the black monte. yeah, interiors are shot, but their there. There's a place for you to sit. A wheel, and hell, even gauges. And to be fair, turbo montes are pretty rare. I've never seen one in all the local gbody shows I've been too, and the only person I kind of know that has one is TurboZach.

Two Turbo Monte Carlos for sale in Connecticut.
Absolute rust buckets, with destroyed interiors, and the only upside I can see is that one of them has a recently rebuilt engine - but I've seen some "recently rebuilt" engines that didn't impress me very much. I would probably give him 800 a piece with the condition they're in, but that's me.

But he's asking 4,000 for the pair. Why the heck would anybody want two of something I could hardly justify buying one of? Even if they're all numbers matching and everything, just because it's rare doesn't mean it's desirable, or that it's rarity can overcome the fact that it's condition is somewhere south of being a rough turd.

Who knows, maybe somebody here is looking for a money pit.

(Don't mind me, I'm being arbitrarily mean spirited right now because I need to vent.)

So, how's everybody doing on this beautiful Saturday? Hahaha

I have to be honest here, if they were closer, I'd go look. I have NEVER seen one in person. The asking price is fine with me but I can do EVERYTHING on the restoration myself except the actual stitching of the seat upholstery. So that's money savings for me. Having an identical parts car would be ideal. I don't build cars to think of what they will bring done. I build cars because I love it. Nothing better than bringing a dead car back to life. I get it that just because it's rare does not mean it's worth money but it's the oddity appeal to me

Well, people are paying a lot of money to get that kind of patina on their rides these days. Those cars are ready for a quick shot of clear and done!

Nada(which is very generous) puts the Low retail value @ about $1800.00 and these cars do not qualify for that
Low Retail Value
This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Mostly usable “as-is”. This column does not represent a “parts car”.

There was over 13,000 of these Montes made. I have a 1984 Mustang GT Turbo convertible - only 731 made and mine is 1 of 1 on color, excellent condition and I would be lucky to get $4000.00
