To some this might sound absurd, however im curious to know if anyone ever put a 78 monte body on a 78ish k5 blazer frame? Would it be possible without having to throw a ton of money at it? and of course would it be cool or a frankenstien?

It's been done, but why do it? If you mean the monte in your profile picture, it'd be a shame to cut it up. I'd start with a rusty hunk of crap or a car from a wreck and straighten it out enough to be mounted on a short wheel base blazer frame like you said. I wonder how close a Bronco frame is to fitment?

I emphatically agree. I have an 88 Blazer with a 4" lift kit. It's rust-free but needs work, and I would give it to you if you care to drive down I-25. Put your effort into that and leave such a survivor alone!

AMC did it and so did Subaru. If done right, it would be acceptable. Going with 12" lift and monster tires would take away from it. I think a more "factory" look would be the way to go.
Don't know if a GBODY truck is more appealing. ..

Just get brave & cut up a S10 4x4 frame, splice it to G frame, then slam it. Forget the off road, make it a road hugger that go in the snow just in case.
