I am pretty certain my brother is running a set of the early/basic World heads on his 383 with a solid roller, large primary headers, and spray. I believe it was running 11s blowing through the converter N/A.
They can definitely be made to work.
i thought they were good heads back then and probably better now.
Sorry Denny if we sound a little hash. In my daily job I decide what flies and what goes into the trash bin so we are all brutally honest.
I'm sure you can make those heads work, but there are probably easier/better options for your combination that don't have the downsides of those heads.
I think you can easily surpass your goal of 300 HP with your motor and those heads. There are potential downsides that you should be aware of and since we aren't trying to sell you anything, we can be honest about those downsides.

didn't think you were hash. little harder to get by these days than in the past. hope they work but been to the school of hard knocks before. got them set up with pushrod length, valve to head clearence last year and ready to go now.i remember when my friend dug up an old 400 sb for his 70 nova and just stuck an intake and 750 holley on it,no cam, just factory,no heads, just factory with 4:11's and some half worn slicks and just killed everybody on the street. i still remembering him laughing. seemed to be used up after about 1000 feet. but any way i'll hope for the best and try to keep you posted on the progress if there is any.
11's is hauling *ss. when can we talk about building and modifying the turbo 350 transmission. lol. i still love that transmission and built them for about 15 years. it's fun to exchange ideas on them
