so hurst V-matic 3 or the B&M megashifter ?? to be honest they look like the exact same product, the companies even seem to be the same parent company... I feel like the hurst is a better quality shifter for some reason but im not sure why i feel like that...
I believe it's more of a personal preference thing. I've gotta buddy that can't stand hurst shifters because of one bad experience. However, I've had the vmatic 2 in my cutlass since 2003 and it's never let me down....and i think for nostalgia's sake the H/O cutlass made me want the hurst over the other brands.

For me I did not have an option to go with a Hurst shifter since they don't make one for my center console and B & M only makes two and the other is the Quicksilver but I will say my Megashifter has worked flawlessly banging gears in my Monte for over 20 years.

I am going to have to cut the factory console when I get it anyway to make it work because they don't make one for the monte console.

my head is spinning when it comes to this stuff... I ordered the procar rally bucket seats for my car...

with that i ordered the procar brackets for monte carlo : https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sca-81182

ow heres where it gets confusing to me ... i have the full bench seat... so i need to buy these : http://www.mikesmontes.com/Bucket-Seat-Rail-Mounting-Brackets_p_17.html

correct ?

so then I pull the bench seat and the carpet out... lay the pro car bracket in, mark where the inners should go then either bolt or weld the inner mounts in.

once thats complete the procar bracket bolts to the factory brackets, then the seat bolts/attaches to the procar mount ?

right so far ?

I am going to get a factory console so i need to get the console mount (it appears there is only one)
going to do an aftermarket ratchet shifter prob hurst v3 so do I need to get the factory shifter bracket mount ? or do I just rig up the hurst shifter ?

Ok, on the process you've listed for mounting the new buckets is spot on. As the saying goes, " measure twice, cut once." I would recommend welding the inner seat brackets.

On the console, does the one you are getting look like mine?

I used the mounts i cut from the same donor monte i got the console. The aftermarket mounts will work, should be a long mount, then a small mount for the front area. YOU DON'T NEED factory shifter mounts!!!!! Use the hurst mounting holes to locate where holes need to be drilled while the console shifter plate is out.

All i did was add some 3/16"-ish thick tubing, about an inch tall to each side of the rear shifter mounting bolts to level the shifter with the console. I then used the shifter plate as a template to notch out the factory console plate to clear the hurst shifter.

not sure to be honest I am getting the inner mounts, and the console mounts from mikes montes or a similar site along with the console itself

Gotcha. You will need the console mounts for sure. I have the mounting locations for the console brackets in a notebook. I will get it out and send you a pic to help get you close to mounting it.

If i get out to where my car is i will snap a pic of how the shifter is mounted so you can see what i mean.

That's what we do buddy.

These are measurements i pulled directly from the donor monte i got the console from. It should get you close for a starting point. Maybe hard to read...but the distance from rear mount to front is 23-3/4".
