Alright I managed to get some stuff done today. Got the transmission cooler mounted to the firewall. I originally was going to mount it under the drivers floor board but I figured this would take up some room on the firewall and leave it less blank lol. Plus it should require less various fitting angles to keep the hoses from kinking etc...I think it looks pretty neat too. Need to order a couple fittings and wire up the fan/thermostat for that.

I installed my lokar throttle cable. Was actually fairly simple like most people report to them. Looks pretty clean. I had to make my own throttle cable bracket. Previous owner of the engine scalped it before i bought it and I did not feel like ordering one lol. Mine works so its fine I reckon.

Im not sure if I posted it already, but I have the lokar transmission and engine dipsticks mounted in the car also. Had to shorten the trans dipstick because like a big dummy I ordered the one that was WAY too long for some reason. Lokar doesnt recommend cutting it as they are calibrated to read accurately. But I measured twice and cut once, stick out of the dipstick is exactly the same as it was before I cut it. So should be fine.

I was able to put all my turba pipes back on the engine and what not. Got to wire my oil sender and temp sender so I can get some readings. Maybe going to try and crank it up this week and see what it sounds like with the new exhaust.

All in all its moving alot pretty good. Today was a good day for progress, here is a fuzzy picture of what the engine bay looks like at the moment...

Well, cranked the engine up tonight for the first time in a while, it turned over and fired up without a miss. Trouble is its blowing thick white smoke like a old steam engine except it reeked of unburnt fuel lol. Pulled a plug, its dumping literally all the fuel it can into each cylinder from the looks of it. I knew this would happen with the decapped injectors and not having the o2 sensors installed. It was kind of cool to see but not good at all lol. Going to put the o2 sensors in this weekend, put a quick preliminary tune on it to where it doesn't kill all the insects within a 2 mile radius anymore. Pcm just is not tuned for the increased flow of the injectors yet.

On the plus side, my new autometer oil pressure gauge works great. Holding right around 40-45 psi at cold idle.

Upside to me cranking tonight with the exhaust being as smokey as it was, it was a great opportunity to find out how bad my vband flanges were leaking. So that got added to the asap fix agenda. Hopefully can get it squared away this weekend. Got my battery relocation to do and install some other gauges as well. Just really hoping to have this thing going again soon. Been putting in some extra hours a work the last couple weeks so that takes away from my time with the car but adds to the funding lol. Stay tuned....

Where did you tap the oil pressure from for the sender?

I have the ict billet single turbo oil feed plate that goes on the side of the oil pan. My turbo feed flange came with a brass 4 way block and i mounted the sender on one side, the plug in one, a -4 AN male fitting, and then a coupling to the ict plate. I still have not put any pics up of it yet lol. It works great so far. Ill be sure to get some pics of it on here this weekend.

Ok...I was working on this very thing tonight. I tapped the block-off plate. Trying to decide what gauges to run. I'm shocked at what a set of three gauges costs!

When you get that LS somewhat tuned, you should shoot a video and post it up! I love the sound a V8 makes when a snail is forcing air into it, I'm sure others do as well!

Btw, any arrivals of "big" purchases yet this week?

Clean install, that works just as well as buying the actual plate. I just figured why not try out the ict billet plate. I have a few of there other things on this engine as well so I knew it would be top notch. As far as good gauges go, yes they are exspensive lol. I chose the autometer ultra lite for my boost psi, oil psi, and water temp. I have an AEM uego wideband I am going to install this weekend. And I have the advance auto special tach lol. Cant remember the brand exactly but it works nicely for the price. The auto meters were a little pricey but the oil psi and water temp gauges are both electric and give you instant readings. Which is especially nice for the oil psi, no need to wait for the needle to float around lol.

I took a quick 10 second video last night of it rolling white smoke out the exhaust tip lol. Looks and smells like hell, but damn if it don't sound good still lol. When i get a better tune on it i will for sure put a video up for you guys. And the "big" purchase should be here next week sometime lol. Im very excited to get it.
