Part interchangeability question

Need an EFE (aka heat riser ) valve for a 78 Cutlass with a stock Chevy 305. Will one from an Olds 307 be a direct swap for this?

I haven't got under the car to get a closer look but a quick look from the top they appear to be the same part.

Talking about the valve between the exhaust manifold and downpipe?

Two bolts, about 2" diameter. Manifold side is usually flat with a sheetmetal coupling ring between them.

Yes the valve between the manifold and downpipe. Current 305 one rattles. I have a known good one from an Olds 307. Just want to know if they're the same.

I don't trust any autopart books nowadays. I'd rather get info from real people with actual experience in these older cars.

Can somebody provide some pics of a 305 EFE valve? I'll then compare it to my 307 one.

I'll look it up in my GM parts catalog to see if the part numbers are different.
