Nice car!
I just picked one up just as clean and identical but with T-tops though and the fiber optics as well.

Funny guy here;). Does it have the 5A or 7A 307 motor? That would be one I wouldn't touch other than to shine up for shows and just enjoy it on nice, fun cruises.

What is the difference between 5A and 7A 307 motors? Curious -Thanks - she's almost put away for the winter, getting real cold here in New England

The 5A has normal sized ports close to the same size as the 350 heads and has a flat tappet cam and 8.5 to 1 compression. The 7A has very small intake ports with a roller cam and 8 to 1 compression. The 5A version has 10 more hp but less torque than the 7A version. 88Hurstolds is only person who likes the 7A version. It is very similar to Olds 260, part throttle is great, full throttle not so much. Nearly everyone who complained about their non HO 307 being gutless had the swirl port version back when there were many of these on the road. Even more hate the 260, mine with forced air, dual exhaust 2004R and 3.42 gears has acceptable power and great mileage. The stock exhaust sucks, even the 442 version, is a big power killer. Many have gained a second in the 1/4 just adding dual exhaust. But stock is what it is. They should have used the prototype stainless shorty headers and Y pipe off the FE3X, was worth 30 hp with ram air and a Corvette cat.

Welcome and nice survivor. In 85 the Y engines were roller and the 9 engines were flat tappet that I remember back then. Its going to warm up next week, I live in New England my self.
