Every time I see one of your updates I'm amazed at how clean that car is. I guess that's what you get with a frame off and a long term project of this magnitude.
So, you've got the sensors mounted and working well.... What's next?

As far as the patience thing is concerned, I'm not sure if I have any more or less than anybody else. There's times I just can't commit the concentration and attention to detail that a particular project requires. I've learned to leave it and come back to it another time when that happens.
I'll give the GoPro notion a little more thought... I've briefly considered it in the past, but always thought the money could be made better use of elsewhere.
Yeah, I suppose the car is pretty clean as compared to the condition of a lot of remaining G's out there, but keep in mind I had already restored the car once previous to this. After it's first restoration, it led a pretty sheltered life, garaged, and constantly shined, waxed, and fussed over forever after that. The only abuse it would take was the occasional aggressive street race, or flogging it in the local quarter mile on race nights.
What's next?
Glad you asked, It's gonna be a busy spring and summer for me.
I'm going to take a bit of a breather from The 'Naut here for a bit, and concentrate on Olds Cool as the warmer weather is steering my thoughts to getting back out on the open road.
The immediate plan is to mask and repaint the aluminum '80 442 wheels I have for it, and get the "like new" BFG radial T/A's I picked up last year mounted and balanced on 'em. The 442 wheels will go on Olds Cool to replace the dull and boring rallies and shitty tires that are currently on it.
After that, work will continue on Olds Cool as the vinyl roof that's on it is shot and making the rest of the car look shabby. The vinyl roof and related trim will be changed out in favour of converting it to a hardtop.
I already know there's some rust repair to do once the vinyl's gone, so there's that, and of course the bodywork and paint that go along with it. You can expect to see both quarters, the sail panels, the entire roof, "A" pillars, and possibly even the hood to get repainted all at the same time. And yes, I'll be tackling all of that myself.
I have something a bit special in mind when it comes to the paint, but I'm not gonna give too much away on that just yet. Let's just say it's going to be "retro/OEM inspired".
In previous years, come spring and summer time, I'd usually suspend work on The 'Naut, but I don't think I'm going to do that this year. I'm really starting to feel the crush of time on The 'Naut, as of next year it'll be 10 years since it last saw asphalt under its tires. Time to up my game and start putting in as much time as I can on it, including summers if need be.
If all goes well and I get Olds Cool painted and back on the road in a reasonable amount of time, I'll either look at restoring and repainting the Camaro wheels I picked up last weekend, or jump directly back onto The Juggernaut.
When I do get back on The 'Naut, it'll be back bodyworking the hood, as I'm still dedicated to completing it and knocking it off the list.
