Alternator and lights issue.

They talk about the diode for an aftermarket starter system. The OP has a stock system that has a resistor in the form of a light bulb and if that light bulb was to burn out the alternator will not get excited and will not charge. He has a stock ignition system so I don't see why he wouldn't use the correct resistor and call it a day.

Update: The ground from the battery to the rad support solved my lighting issue and I wired in a little tiny led light under the dash to the ignition switch which solved my "run on" issue. Thanks for the help fellas. Appreciate it a lot.
