There is a pull a part Junkyard in Harvy LA just south of NOLA that is open 7 days a week.

I would bet a dollar there is a G-Body, A-body or B-Body in the yard that has these plates/shims for a couple bucks.

The shims are as required. You may not need any.
Okay I'm going to check

The NO West Pullapart has a 1983 olds Delta 88 (row 212), an 1985 Parisenne (row 208) and an '89 Caprice on row 210. The B-body plates/shims are different, but they can probably be sectioned to work without much effort (use a radiac wheel or saw to cut them into 2 halves). They use the same M8-1.25 studs/nuts. The B-Body stuff a lot of times is just scaled up G-body stuff.

They also have two 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokees (Row 407). You should pull the Steering shafts out of those while you are there (Take out the air filter Box, take off shield/cover on the lower shaft, take out the two shaft bolts (upper and lower, 13mm), stick large screwdriver in slot to pry open splines, collapse shaft and remove). If the shafts don't want to collapse you can picklefork between the box and shaft, but this is a last resort.
