So last summer I was looking for a older car to work on and hot rod and my son casually mentions his friends grandfather has a car in his basement. I ask what kind he says a "old cutlass I dont know 1976 or something" . At first I wasnt really interested in that generation Cutlass but asked if he could send some pics of the car. So I get one of the taillight and notice its a Gbody and his friend says its a 1986 thats been in the basement since 2000. Now Im really interested because this is a one owner low mileage car with all the paperwork, accesories etc. So I make the short trip out there to look at it and I find out it only has 36k on it all original with one small dent in the trunklid. I ask what he wants and he says shoot me a offer....Im like crap he wants a fortune for it so I start off low and say $1500 and he says sold...Ill get the title I about passed out because this car was clean. Threw a battery in it some fresh gas and aired the tires up and drove it home. Found some old centerlines in good shape for 300 picked up a ls for 400 and a GN rear for 500 and some motor accesories for another 1000. Here are some pics of my find...so far I have 3700 invested in this

When I bought my 79 monte in 2001 at the age of 14, it was an original 1 owner car with an original 23,000 on the odometer.... Looking back it was a shame of a thing to waste on a teenager, but I had lots of fun in it and still have the car... just a a little more "faded" and worn than before.

Great find!

That is an awesome deal and I'm wondering how you got the Cutlass up the stairs from the basement and out the door without scratching any of the paint...:)

Wow!! To say you scored big is an understatement. What a great find. It's nice to be in the right place at the right time.
