I here that some b*tch named Sandy did a hole lot of damage to many of my friends my 496 gmc was floating in salt water bed full of family's I still don't know that awful night changed me forevermore

longroof (Jack) has relatives and friends who went though that and one lost I think 4 classic cars. It has to be hard to start all over with nothing. I know some people just give up and I don't blame them.

If anyone has enough postage, feel free to send us some rain. The Hot Shots are sweltering managing a couple of fires up in the mountains. We've set some temperature records in the past week.

Greetings Guys; Good thing we don't have global warming or it would be damn hot? I find it hard to believe that some people don't believe it's happening! I'll be 71 in a few weeks & winters here are much milder that when I was a kid. Even just 20 years ago we had harder-colder winters. Anyway back in 66-67 I was in the Air Force stationed in Libya along the coast, I did see a 117 but mostly 110 to 113 for highs. So I kinda know what you South Western are experiencing, try to keep cool. And keep in mind that you don't have to put up with winter & SALT, nor do you have to shovel heat or rain. We call it cabin fever when ya gotta stay in the house for weeks-months during the winter. Heat the garage & work on the hobby car. So my advice is air condition the garage & do some wrenchin'. Oh by the way my garage is heated & air conditioned & it only took till I was 52 before I could afford to have these luxuries. Keep on keepin' on, Ole' Bob.

I was hoping politics wouldn't be brought up, global warming is happening and it's happening to other planets in our solar system. Nothing can be done unless someone figures out how to control the sun. Throwing money at it to appease those who have an agenda will not stop it. But I thought they called it climate change now. Back in the 70's the worry was we were headed back to an ice age so who knows what this planet has in store for us. Speaking of an ice age during the last ice age there were no cars, factories, coal plants, etc so I wonder what melted the ice.

Back on topic lots of rain is falling from that tropical storm along the gulf coast

that sucks, I guess you, your better half and the dogs are crowded around the AC. Do they have any idea on how long the high temperatures are going to hang around?

The news said this morning that a shift in the High Pressure area will take us back down in to the 90's Hopefully on Monday. The dogs have it figured out, The stay on the bed under the AC vent and the ceiling fan.:)
