Stock appearing H/O's are gorgeous when clean and done right. There are already a gazillion rusted out H/O's and clones that are half assed running around. Personally, I'm not into that patina thing....maybe on an old truck or rat rod but since you have a real VIN 9 car I would bring it back to its full glory.
Paint it back stock. Just my opinion.
I agree, the car will spend the next year or 2 in epoxy primer until I can do it right. I love stock H/O look and that's how the car will look. Under the hood it's not gonna be so stock. The Hurst cars have a registy

The patina thing doesn't do anything for me either. To each his own though. I'm into shiney paint!

I absolutely want a daily driver (except snow) 442. I can't say that I'd leave it stock, but if I did have a solid car, I'd be sure to keep all of the parts. There are thousands of G-Bodies in Metro Detroit...everything from lowriders to cars running 9's to cars with $6,000 24" rims, but I rarely see stock appearing 442's or Hurst.

There are tons of G-bodies in my area. You literally can't go a block without seeing at least 2.

Compared to one of my cars (84 mercury cougar )you can't get any replacement parts except stuff that interchange's with Foxbody mustangs like suspension or drivetrains parts.

You can't get anything for a G-body Malibu that does not interchange with that year El Camino.

My 81 Malibu and 84 El Camino have tons of interchangeable parts between each of them. Since they both have 82-up wiring front to back, steering columns (82-up ),front ends from the fenders with sidemarkers and four headlight header panels with front spoiler, both have 2004rs,front steering components the same with quick ratio gear boxes. both have almost the same stuff except brakes setups, rear ends ,motor setups are bigger on my Malibu vs my El camino.
