Robert, I've still got my Saginaw and I've got a kit. I can rebuild it if you need a trans and we can work something out. I don't care about the money. I want to see that salon on the road.

On the shop building, if at all possible, don't rent. You want to have/build equity in your place of business. My dad rented the place where he parked his milk trucks for years and even made many improvements to the place. When it was all over, he had to walk away with nothing out of the place. It sucked.

I'm looking forward to meeting you as well.

I would check, or even temporarily disconnect the reverse linkage and see if the noise doesn't stop. It's possible the linkage rod got tweaked being jammed into gear. Maybe you get lucky and a minor linkage adjustment gets thing right.

Maybe be the 1 to 2 synchro

Jack it up put it in neutral with the side cover off check the teeth too

I can't see how one clutch pop can do damage to the trans unless it was half shot already.

Ill admit that i didn't go back through the thread to see what transmission you have but you said cast iron so I'm assuming Saginaw. I've been into several over the years and unfortunately the weak spot seems to be reverse. Most reverse idler gears are chowed up and clashing gears going into reverse will likely chip a tooth (teeth) on the cluster. That clicking sound you hear is a good indicator that this may have happened. Fortunately they're a pretty easy transmission to work on.

...and happy page 100!

Today is the start of the 7 day thrash to finish the Salon. After that, I start on the 55 for a 30 day thrash. First thing I'm doing in a few minutes is drop out the Saginaw and clutch stuff to look for damage. Hopefully it's obvious. Maybe I can get Bar50 to inspect it as well since he's coming over. He has a NOS headlight switch knob for my Salon. I'll be posting update pics when I can

Damn, reverse gear is chunked and if you look down in the case you'll see another gear chunked.

Let me know if you want/need my box. I could meet you in say Dallas with it. I have a kit for it too. If you are looking for parts for it, check out D&L transmission. Larry Fischer is the real deal. I've also had good experiences with The Gear Box.

At least it happened now.

If it broke that easy it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Better sooner and in your driveway than out on the open road!!

Bummer on the gears. Would you want a wide-ratio Muncie?

By the way, your thread now has 1000 posts on the 100th page! Woohoo!
