I've been wanting to go with Fitech for about a year now and it just seems like for the price of the unit + the fuel system upgrades...I'd almost be better off saving more money and getting a used LS motor in a few years.
My car has been sitting a long time. I had a kickass Barry Grant Fuel System. It was tough to walk away from but I was going to have to rebuild everything. I found a deal on a Fitech and dove in. All my fuel lines will work. I'll just put another $500 in a pump and filter. I was just kind of at a cross road. My car was setup with a SBC and didn't want to have to buy new headers, exhaust, transmission, driveshaft and everything else. I'd love an LS but this route is getting me back on the road sooner. I still gotta run through the suspension and brakes. It's not a cheap hobby but it was my first car. What I really want to do is get something like an LSX454 or LSX376 (with some boost) and put it on an Art Morrison chassis. Lol. Yes I'm playing the lotto tonight

Started car last night. Fired right up sat and idled nice. Have a few loose ends to wrap before it goes on a drive.

My Sniper came in this week for the Taxi.I got the gold one. I can't wait to get it up and running.
I put a Sniper system on a customers, 1972 C-10, 500hp 383ci, dart heads, big cam about a month ago and he's been driving it everywhere! He LOVES this system! It at least doubled his fuel mileage to 15L/100km (or what our US neighbors call 15.7 miles/gal.) with a TH400 and 4.10 gears on the Hwy @ 70mph, 3,500rpm going to his cottage. He needs an OD or change the gears now. The truck starts cold/hot perfectly, idles great and the throttle response at anytime is instant. We did not use their timing control, he has an MSD system in it already and from what I've seen online, people are having the most troubles with the timing control with these units.

If installed correctly, you should love it. Key is NO exhaust or vacuum leaks, 180*F Engine thermostat and you'll be good.
If you haven't used or seen "Remflex" exhaust gaskets (made in USA)...check them out. I was very impressed.

Well no eliminates just about anyone with headers:). That is the key with any efi. I would have thought TPI with the long runners would produce much more torque. Was the TPI speed speed density or MAF controlled.

Sweet! Now you just need to change the avatar pic since the TPI is bye bye!

I will change avatar this afternoon.

Th tuned port run great down the highway and wot. I never could get it to idle correctly. I had MS3 on it, to much to play with for my amount of knowledge.

It's a 5" K&N that's staying on it. Not sure what color it will end up though.

That may be your problem, those K&N air filters are known to mess up MAF sensors by coating them in oil. Also they let more dirt though than a normal paper filter. Have to be careful how you route the air intakes with MAF systems. A poorly designed intake will cause MAF misreadings.

TPI was originally designed for 305s as GM in the 80s did not know if there was a future for 350s. There the system ends up being a little small on 350s.

All computer systems form CCC to EFI require the lack of vacuum and exhaust leaks, not just aftermarket.

The car was set up speed density, had nothing to do with a maf, or a K&N filter. Sometimes one needs very little excuse to try something different.
