Some A hole put 255/50's all the way around on my 87'elky. The rears look nice, but the fronts... . Rub allday long on the sway bar, the inner fender, everything. I hate to buy new tires because the ones that are on here are basically brand new and about $150 each

255/50 whats? 15's? 16's? 17's?

255's all around are cool. Being cool sometimes takes sacrifice and/or surgery.

255/50R17's are too tall for the front of a G-body. 255/45's or 40's will work better with 17" rims. If they are 255/50's, 255/50R16's is about the largest 255/50 that will fit without a lift kit or at least tall springs with a jacked up stance.

I put 345s on an 11" rim which is 1-2" narrower than ideal - looks and works fine. Guys routinely put 255s and 275s on stock 7" wide rims. I'd say 245s in at least 26" OD will look acceptable on 17x7s.

16's. But I think the back spacing is what's hurting me

255/50s that rub the swaybar and frame at full lock is the perfect backspacing for 255's. LESS backspacing than this and MORE inner fender surgery is required.

Stops on the LCA or a 3rd gen box will keep the tires off the frame/swaybar, but rubbing at full lock is pretty benign.

Do you know what brand of tire that car has? That is the exact look I want for my car.
Unfortunately not. I found the pic online when I was shopping for my new wheels. I also think the stance looks darn near perfect. I will get the same size tires once my cutlass starts getting put back together after paint.
