I have always used SEM for my interior paints but for my Regal I just wanted a can of matching paint to do my trio gauge panel but it was not available through SEM so I bought a can from Gbodyparts and sprayed my panel and it was a good match to my original dash, I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.
The below picture is before mounting it to the dash.

Any and and all colors are available but not all are made in an aerosol can. You can send something to SEM and they'll scan it, get the formula, custom mix the color and make a quart or gallon for you. Or they'll email you the formula and you can have a paint supplier mix it. This last time I had them do it because of the fiasco I had with the local place I usually deal with. Of course you need a spray gun to put it on but its very easy to use. Its ready to use right out of the can. Just stir it up, pour it into the cup and spray. No thinning. And it dries really quick. I did well over 20 pieces for my friends 79 Camaro and he took them home the same day.

I still may try the Bulldog adhesion spray and some SEM.

If that doesn't work then it's this

Have you ever used Plasti Dip before ? I recently used it to black out some trim on my sons new Cross Trek. He bought it in an aerosol can. It too a few coats to cover the chrome and it dried kind of rough. A friend of mine told me that I should have heated up the can in hot water to make it dry smoother. You might want to try that if you go that route.
BTW, its been 4 months and its still on but when you touch it it still feels kind of sticky.

I have always used SEM products and I too use Bulldog adhesion promoter on the arm rests and horn buttons. I have the same steering wheel. I scotch brite all my interior parts before applying dyes/paints

That's the answer I was waiting on. Did it hold up (the horn button) when you put the pieces back in under the lips?

I do remember putting the medallion back in was a bear. I used a hair dryer to get it super flexible and got it in. It did put a nick in the paint. I used a small paint brush and dobbed on some paint. My Salons horn button I'm painting with the medallion in it. I had my local vinyl sign shop do a high gloss black with a screen printed gold 442 logo for my new horn button. Going to put it on after I paint it all. My original medallion had a crack in it.

Why not leave the button in and just use some fine line tape around it ? I had to mask off part of my dash to do the black and nothing happened.
This is before I added the thin silver tape but the dye didnt bleed through.

That was my point I only wanted 1 aerosol can to match a stock 86' Regal burgundy dash and SEM does not have it, I could have it made but then it costs me 3 times as much so I contacted Brian from Gbodyparts on here and sent him a picture of my interior and he told me the part number he had would match and it did and since I was already getting something from them I just added the can to my order.

Got some Plasti Dip Gunmetal Grey and Smoke. I hope the grey gets me close and I can darken the rest of the way with the smoke. May not match at all. We'll see.

If not, it's SEM and mask the emblem.
