Interior lighting suggestions

I had one of the kits test wired up to see how they were but ended up kicking the wiring out when getting out of the car, main problem to me was that I wanted it to run like the dome light but couldn't since I have the door poppers

One thing that greatly improved my interior lighting was the addition of a rear view mirror that has map lights that come on when the doors are open. I have t tops so there is no light on the ceiling of the GP.

I did red led strips in the footwell of my '77 Trans Am. Matched the interior and wasnt too bright or too dim.
Did a red dome light too.
