They make tools that will grab the broken tap in its flutes. I don't think you will be able to drill a thread cutting tap. It's made from tool hardened steel. Sorry that happened to you.

I used a grinding bit on the Dremel that took care of the jagged end, the drill bit did something bit at that pace it would be done in a few weeks. Should of seen it coming, everything was going too smoothly.

I attempted to drill out the tap end in the axle flange with a small cobalt bit. It could do it, but I'd be late to my own funeral waiting to get half way thru. I dont think I'll have the bracket on any time soon.
