So I bought my new carb to replace my Quickfuel 1150, I originally bought a Quickfuel 1250 but sent it back when i opened it up to find no provisions for a power valve plus I was somewhat disappointed in the quality of their QFX casting.
So I figured I would try the new Holley Gen 3 Dominator and I really like the quality on this and I stuck it on my current engine to test it and out of the box it runs well and adjusted well even though it is a little too much carb for this set up I think it will work great on my new engine.
I also like the new float bowl design that holds 20% more fuel and has a drain plug.
I will jet it down for the time being and probably polish it while it is apart.

I like the idea of a bigger float bowl with drain plugs...

Has changing over to Holley EFI ever crossed your mind? Or are there reasons why you don't Change over?

How were the 335's to drive on the street? Will be interesting to see how the new heads do. This new engine is not pump gas friendly i take it?

The 335's still work well on the street, I never really liked the Cam Motion cam that I have so the new Comp Cam should work well with the bigger heads.
And you are correct the new engine is not pump gas friendly but I plan on starting out with race fuel and then possibly converting over to E85 at some point when I feel comfortable enough with the conversion.
I am currently working on the Regal so hopefully I get the new engine in by the spring.

I finally made a little bit of time to do some mock ups with the new Melling billet oil pump, only had to put a small notch in the rear baffle of the new Moroso oil pan.
I also like that the pump is clearanced for the rear main cap stud, typically I have to grind on a cast oil pump for it to fit.

I recently bought the lifter bore dial indicator for degreeing the cam and have to say this is so much easier than trying to use my magnetic base with adjustable arms to get my reading from the lifter.
And with this Comp Cams adjustable timing gear that adjusts like a belt drive I was able to set up my intake centerline without ever having to remove my degree wheel, I have never had an easier time doing this.

Did this engine get finished yet? I'm curious to see how it performed. I finished my 565 last season and made a few runs at the end of the year.
