My guy said doing the c clip eliminators aren't a good idea with street driving and that I should be good up to 900hp with this setup . He doesn't think I'll ever have enough tire to hook and hurt the rear end. So time to start throwing money at him. I'm glad we got it in motion. Thanks for everybodies input and help.

never seen C clip eliminators that didn't leak

I have a locker in mine and won't go back but I have to play devil's advocate here. I have never had/nor heard of anyone personally having issues with a spool on the street. A lot of it's just overblown, regurgitated nonsense that keeps getting thrown out there. Yea tight maneuvering is a b*tch but attributing it to potentially killing someone? Come on :rofl::rofl:

Flame on, just my experience.
Try wet conditions even with a locker. My wife floored my Cutlass with the no slip to get across an intersection and it did a 360. Add in big power and an angry driver, bad things would happen.

Wet conditions even with limited slip will get you in trouble like that. It all comes down to the driver. Not the rearend.

The sketchiest car I own in the rain is my Jaguar and it has an open rear end, stability control and traction control. My 2+2 with a locker and 200+ more HP is magical in the rain compared to the Jag.

C-Clip eliminators aren't really needed with forged axles until you can pull both front tires.

So here's the plan. Eaton truetrac, 30 spline moser axles, keeping the 3.73s, and every bearing is being replaced.

As someone who just installed a TrueTrac in their G-body, I would say you made the right choice. This thing is phenomenal at turning both tires, yet it is extremely docile on the street... at least when you're not sending lots of torque to the rear end.

I put the eaton true trac in my tuned 4.8 rcsb with 3.73s and i loved it. I have had lockers and lsd's, posi, whatever you want to call all of them in other trucks and cars as well. I honestly feel more comfortable driving a "live axle" rwd or something where I know what the 2 rear wheels are doing in any condition because of the predictability. From 8.8 lsd with 3.27s in my old cougar 4.6 to 4.11s in a 14 bolt short bed with a 383, a couple lt1 8.5 caprices, posi 7.5 79 monte, couple z71 silverados, burbans, etc. I've had no control or traction issues, because I knew what they were going to do in whatever conditions were at hand.

I spent much my impressionable years with g bodies, b bodies, trucks, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, etc. running from the fuzz on a mix of dirt roads and crappy asphalt lined with canals and trenches on either side. We were literally new age Duke bros. I'm not the least bit worried about spinning tires in a car that will probably never see rain. We were drifting before it was cool. Lol
