I have a 79 GMC Caballero V8 4.4L 267cid, 2bbl Carb. I want to replace my Dualjet with a new one. Maybe some better performance. Edlebrock or Holly. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Post a few pictures of your Caballero and Introduce yourself. We don't bite!!!!!:D

With regards to your posting I have a 79 Monte Carlo with the 267cid engine that I swapped a non electronic (76 vintage) Q-jet and an aluminum factory intake from my 86 El Camino. Along with the headers and duel exhaust the previous owner installed, it made this little small block more responsive. A factory 4 barrel intake and Q-jet would be all the money I would throw at this engine. Great for gas mileage, not a good base for performance.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Bob. That gives me some ideas. I was trying to keep the car as close to original as possible so I may just have to rebuild it. I was just looking for a simple replacement to save me some time.

Everybody says the 267 is good for mileage, but my experience says otherwise, my diesel dually gets better mileage with a 4.10 axle than the wagon 267/2.41 axle on the same daily commute.

Curious what people are ACTUALLY getting with them.
