I am building a 79 Cutlass with an Olds 69 Toro 455 running 432hp/503 ft lbs and a 4 speed Muncie.k I would like to run an electric cooling fan. Anyone make this conversion? I would like feed back on what to use for radiator and fans. I plan on adding the AC back in at a later date. Cost is not necessarily an option.

I only have a mild SBB 350 but I run it hard, and a stock replacement radiator with a Chrysler LH platform dual fan assembly keeps it cool enough.

Electric fans are a must!!!! It doesn't take much to mount or wire them up! I've been running electric fans for 10+ years with great results.

any stealth installs out there using the factory shroud ?

We used the factory shroud and cut away the excess to mount dual fans underneath,

, but we ditched the A/C and simplified/cleaned things up under the hood, so the stealth shroud went away.

I'm using 88 firebird dual fans, with an 88 firebird factory replacement aluminum radiator. Cools my 403 great, plus it's GM and fairly cheap.
Good comparison to the Olds 455, both can be a challenge to cool. The Dodge Stratus fans work well, move a lot of air and are the right size. I can tell you the single 40 amp relays don't last with those fans. Get the Champion American Eagle 2 core or their 4 core for the G body. A member on here has a 10 to 1 Olds 403, doesn't get above 180 with the 4 core. I had the 3 core, it was not big enough. It went between 190 and 210 and would hit 240 towing with my 8 to 1 403.
