With a G-body you want between -6 and -12mm offset in back and -6 to zero offset in front with 15" wheels.

The 15X7's 235/60's is about as big as you wan to go. In back you'll probably need to roll the fender lip on a cutlass, but a 275/50 or 275/60 should fit on a 10" rim.

4.5" max backspacing without a frame notch

I personally think on a Cutlass which because of the shape of the wheel well is limited in tire size and even with a frame notch a 15" x 10" rear rim would be extremely tight and without a frame notch for it to have adequate clearance from the frame it would most likely stick out of the wheel well.
I also feel that a 275 series tire will be at or beyond it's rim width requirements and would be "stretched" to fit on a 10" rim.

On my old '87 Cutlass, I had a set of offset aluminum slot rims with 15x10 on the rear....wrapped in 295/50/15 BFGs. The fender lip had to be rolled slightly, but it did have about an inch of space between the tire and the frame on both sides.

If I went with that size combo again, I'd notch the frame, and get the correct backspacing.

So you think an 8"rim on the back would be the best way to go? Whats the fattest tire I could get away with?

I personally like an 8" rim in the back of a Cutlass or any Gbody without a frame notch, it avoids a lot of headaches.
I am currently running a 275/60R15 on my Regal but I think because of your wheel well shape a 255/60R15 might be a better option since it is wide but shorter.
Let the Cutlass guys chime in for there opinion though on what backspace and tire size work best.

FWIW, when I had my Centerline's on my 87 Cutlass I was running a 15x6 front, 15x8 rear with 4.5" BS in the rear. I only had a 235/60/15 and there might have been 7/16"-1/2" clearance to the frame. Ideally, a 4" BS on the rear sets the wheel even in and running a 255/60 would be no problem, 275 will fit with rolled wheel lips.
