Simple, elegant, and ingenious. I need reminders like this when I figure out the hardest way to do anything - which is often.

Replaced some frontend pieces last week.

Had my first Rockauto hiccup with this order. Can't necessarily blame them though. I double and triple checked the order. First to see if I screwed it up, and second to see if they did. Nope, all the part numbers on the boxes were correct. They gave me exactly what I asked for. Problem was that one of the outer ends was misboxed so I had 2 rights and no left. Also one of the inner ends had a smaller diameter pin that goes through the center link. All the other dimensions were identical. Rather than waste a bunch of time trying to exchange $16 worth of parts, I just got the replacements locally. Anyway, it's all finally back together and I aligned it yesterday.

Thanks Quinn!

You're welcome. My mind is a pile of Post-Its, and I spotted this on the end of the aisle at the supermarket. It was labeled 'Buy Me'. You can repaint it to match yours.

Wow, over 2 years since I updated. Probably let some bleed over to the old Compound thread. Anyway, I kept it in regular rotation until last winter when I started driving another car that had better defrost. I really didn't make many changes other than fabricate the new wheels and buy a new set of whitewalls for the stock rims to use during winter months. Back around May or June it got dragged to Idaho with the back completely packed with spare parts.

This morning I put it in my dad's barn for the winter. It might not stay warm but at least it'll be dry. Doubt I even put 100 miles on the clock since I got over here.

I don't really have much in the way of future plans. All my projects are on hold until I have a garage to work in again...and eventually a new shop.

I pulled it out of my dad's barn where it's been stored for the last 10 months. It stayed dry but got completely filthy. Looks like some mice had passed through but didn't set up shop. I had put some Decon inside it a few weeks ago but it wasn't even touched.

I rinsed off the loose layer of funk. The battery won't take a charge (it's 6.5 years old) so I hung the jump box on it. Primed the fuel pump and cranked it for about 20 seconds with the ignition module unplugged so I could get some oil pressure behind the timing chain tensioner. Then I plugged the module back in, let it crank for about 5 seconds and it started right up. No rattles. No smoke.
I let it idle in front of my dad's shop for about 5 minutes then jumped in and drove it home. I always forget how rattley it is inside...and fun to drive...and zippy.

So, it's home now. Still needs a deep cleaning and then it's time to put pen to paper and formulate a plan of attack.
