Bought my first g body today. Paid $1500 for it. One owner 70k miles frames solid however there's some small holes in front floor boards that shouldn't be too much of a problem for me. Already sold the engine and transmission on the way home for $500. I plan to build a drag car out of it. Lq9 waiting to be put in with a 4l80e behind it. Next year plan to destroke the motor and add a twin turbo setup. Thanks for the add guys!!! Anyone from the neighbors region?

Welcome aboard from KY, not a bad looking Cutlass to start out with! I'd hate to say don't kill it for drag car use, but at least it's being saved from the scrap heap!!!!

What part of Indiana are you in? Share pics as you get the build going, we all love pics!

I'm in Evansville,IN. If you're lightening it for drag racing, please don't scrap ancillary items like seats, seat belts, trim pieces, etc.before offering them up on here. G body big and small parts are getting harder to find every year, worse when scrap prices go up.

I'm from North West Indiana about 30 miles south east of Chicago. Hopefully have the body off the frame by the end of November and already working on that. Body work, Suspension, brakes and lq9 install is stage 1. Interior needs to be addressed as well. Nothing too crazy to start off. I'll post some more pictures sometime this week. Work is a little crazy right now. Expect to see alot of one off parts as steel fabrication is something I do at work. In the end hoping to destroke the lq9 to 334ci with twin turbos for a high rev ls based engine. Looking at other builds, that combo revs to 8,500 with some nice head work.

Well I got her in the garage and started taking it apart. Need to get the engine and transmission out since it's sold. Core support was garbage, I found out when tearing it down, I wonder what other stuff I'll find. If anyone would like any parts I'm not using feel free to shoot me a offer. Going to start a build thread soon. Be sure to follow it!

Hey! Someone half-local to me! ha. I missed this thread when it was posted, but welcome aboard. Sounds like you're building for good power, but don't be afraid to take it out to a local SCCA autocross next season if it's running! I typically run with South Bend Region but Indiana Northwest Region (INR) is a good group of people usually. They're your local SCCA chapter. http://www.inr-scca.org/

It should be running next spring, however I'm building it to go in a straight line, I had my fair share of track cars. I'm coming from the Subaru community. I've always wanted a turbo v8, not sure if I want to go twins or one big single on the 5.3 yet. Ill be tuning it myself also with the fast ez efi setup on a stook block till I can get it dialed in I'm sure I'll blow it up this summer. Shooting for 800hp. I set aside a 10k budget but that's looking like it's not going to be enough lol. Transmission alone from Jake's performance is $4,800... First things first though I'm going to pull the body sand blast it, plate the frame and stiffen it up. I've been looking at other people's builds. I like the Schwartz frame so it will be something like that! The bumpers, hood, wheels and whole interior is for sale minus the dash. It had a vinyl top however I'm not sure if the rear window trim is the same as a non vinyl top. Going to start the build thread this weekend I'll post the link when I do. Thanks again guys!

Welcome from Fort Wayne! Interesting build and I’ll be watching your progress. I’m building an 87 442 right now. Getting it ready for paint soon. I am interested in the rear seat and heater box.
