I dig the brushed look as well. I love how you took a seemingly useless set of bezels and made them work perfectly for your needs. That's a scrounger's delight. Lol. You get cool points from me for that.
You also proved a good point. Never throw stuff away!

D,
Awesome job on the taillight lenses. I too dig the brushed look. Kudos to you, my friend.

Thanks everyone for all your replies and comments!
I’m a bit surprised at the highly favourable reaction they got from so many of you, but I’m taking that as a good sign and will definitely be carrying it through to the rest of the trim.
Thanks again fellas, you guys are the greatest.

The brushed is cool. It is a nice alternative especially when starting with a damaged part, what did you have to lose? Get this car done so you can get that other beast done.

Thanks Christian, that’s the plan.
I want to have the majority of the work done on this thing and ready for paint come springtime if possible. At least be able to drive and enjoy it again and not lose out on yet another cruising season.

It’s been kinda weird not working on “that other beast” this year, I’m not gonna lie. I really doubt I’ll get to it much, if at all, this year but I guess we’ll see.

In other news, I am pleased to announce the return of “garage nights” and my good friend Mike B to the Rktpwrd Skunkworks. Mike was partly responsible for some of the crazy ideas and top notch work that has gone into The Juggernaut over the years. We used to do “garage nights” between the two of us every week during the winter months alternating back and forth between my Cutlass and his ‘57 Chevy.

All that changed several years ago when he started working shift work up north in the oilfield camps. But he’s back now, and wants to reinstate the nights ala garage, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Look for much more progress to be made with the two of us rockin’ on this thing.

And one last thing, I realized all the pics of the taillight assemblies I posted the other day were all of the passenger’s side. Here’s a couple more showing both.

That's awesome Donovan, I'll be doing something similar next year with my cousin and my father, since we'll be neighbors.

Looks great, the only thing I would think about is possibly tinting the tails to hide the imperfections in the lens itself if that is a crack. Not to mention I think it makes them look more sinister.
