Got the second coat of paint on the firewall this morning. My brother came over and helped me, which I really enjoyed. Sean sealed the top of the HVAC case to the firewall, where the factory had seam sealer, with 3M strip caulk. We got the cowl vent cover installed after the paint dried enough. I got my wiper motor cleaned up. More diesel goo. I spent the rest of the day cleaning and painting the hardware to put the upper cowl back together. It feels great that it's going back together....

Here's a pic of the trim tag before it went back on, if anyone is interested....

I'm pretty close to putting the lower windshield stainless trim back on. It's got some dings in it and I'd like to have it restored but I don't know of anyone in Houston to do the work and it's too big and fragile to ship so it's going back on as is. Thanks for following along. I hope to have another update tomorrow evening.

I like how you are so organized. Plastic on the fenders and windshield is a nice touch.
My builds are lucky if they get an old blanket thrown over the fender LOL

Looking good buddy, keep up the progress!

Thanks Scott! I'm pushing hard to make good progress over winter into the spring.

That is looking good Jared....nice work!

Thanks Kevin. I appreciate it.

Looks great. Keep it up.

Thank you sir.

Looking good Jared.

Thanks Jack. It's a funny deal. I don't want dad or Sean to feel abandoned but it's time for the GP to get some love. I will have to try to find some balance and still be there for them.

Thanks! I'm so grateful to have my health back. I didn't realize how bad it had gotten because it had slowly, progressively gotten worse over 12 years.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm blessed/cursed with good attention to detail.

I made some more progress today. I got the lower windshield stainless trim back on. I brought my wiper arms home and went over them with a Mother's Power Ball and Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish. Man did it bring them back to life! This pic shows one done and one untouched...

Guys, if you don't have a Power Ball, get one! They are great on trim and lenses, as well as wheels.

I got my wiper linkage that I cleaned and painted back in April installed. I also hung the wiper motor but it will likely come back off to install the inner fender.

I replaced my blower motor resistor. It didn't clean up that great and there was some melting damage to the top of the HVAC case so I suspected it. I found a NOS Delco replacement on Ebay for $8 shipped. By the looks of the box it goes back to the mid 80's.....

The top of the cowl is just about buttoned up....

I have some new wiper blades, with silver frames for her but I'm not going to put them on until she's running.

Here's a look from the front after I put the upper cowl weatherstrip back on. I cleaned it up with McGuire's Natural Shine. I really like that stuff.....

That's it for now gents. Thanks for tuning in. Hopefully I'll have a few updates next week.
