That's insane. Its really impressive that the crank kept going for a minute that thing had some force behind it. It makes me wonder if we are reaching the point where boost and power are to the point we are going past what the metal itself is able to withstand


Metallurgy has come a long way too. Look how good those powdered rods GM used are.

Not so much the rods and many of the forged internal parts of the engine, but the grey iron used in many engine blocks hasn't changed a whole lot, that part is what im wondering will need improved in the neat future

The technology is out there, cup blocks are compacted graphite (CGI)

Also Im pretty positive I read this thing had 120+ PSI boost going towards it

Supposedly it was making 2212hp and pushing 146psi of boost when it let go.
