OK, I have an LS swapped built 85 C10 and was debating on pulling that motor using the 440 HP LS1 built by thompson motorsports or upping my game by either buying a 454LSX (crate motor) from performance chevrolet or a Blueprint Engines 427 LS? Both have 625 HP. The blueprint engines motor has a better warranty. Not sure what direction to go? The 370 LS1 is fun but I really love that holly sh*t factor the bigger LS will provide. Most likely i will use the 4l80E transmission. I am in the planning stages now but eventually i will make this happen. Both the 427LS BP motor and the 454ls chevy crate are close in price. ??

Even though the 427 LS would be lighter with the factory aluminum block I would want the 454 LSX with the stronger cast iron block and added torque.

EROD comes with to many components that i wouldnt use anyways at a premium price. Not going chevy electronics or manifolds or cats. Thats a kit better off for people who must adhere to strict emissions. To much money for only 430hp at the crank. My ls1 is stronger and allready bought for that matter.

Just from a glance at your question..... you and I have very different budgets.......but for what it's worth....I would go with a good used gen 4 4.8 or 5.3l, VS Racing S480 turbo, fabricate a flipped truck manifold hot side, spec out a decent cam, 210 lb injectors, valve springs, ptc or circle d torque converter, 4l80e with HD2 shift kit......etc.

You could have 800+ rwhp for less $ than the options you are proposing.

This is the 2nd guy I've heard in the last week mention a 632 BBC as if the price tag is in the same realm as a stroked SBC or LS. I don't think it's the same guy, but there must be some more money for building weekend cruisers in their pockets than I budget for. When I think of $12K for a long block I think if it doesn't make 1200 whp (yes - wheel HP) then I just got screwed.

Not to be taken the wrong way - if you have the money, then spend it. For that matter, I'd still want to add two 76 or 80 mm T4's and make 2500 lol :):)
