That's my point - I'm $4K less than that making the same hp to the wheels. And I'll bet much more streetable.
I am not suggesting anyone go out and buy a 632 for $12,000 and I don't know what your build is but you have to consider every single component is brand new and it could be built for much less if you are willing to do the assembly.
Also the cam in the 632 is very mild for the the cubic inches and I would imagine it would be very streetable.

S480 is a big turbo if you plan to street it. 210lb injectors are way overkill too even with E85.

Depends on your goals.......for 5-750 rwhp........The billet 7875 is probably the best all around street turbo. For 750whp+ S480 is a better choice. I was just pointing out you could make a lot more power for less money than the NA crate motors discussed in this thread.

The thing with injectors.....is there really aren't any legitimate options between 80 lbs and 210......if you max out 80 lb injectors at around 600whp on e85......you have no choice but to upgrade to 210 lb.

A VS Racing Chinesium 7875 is a fine turbo for a 4.8 or 5.3 that is is primarily street driven. But for a 6.0 it is undersized. An S475 T6 is undersized for any 6.0 that is a street/strip application.

Your comment about injectors leaves out 120lb high impedence (direct replacement for stockers), and 120 and 160 low impedence Holleys. There are many options/choices for injectors between 80lb Siemens and 210 Bosch. And alot of them are reasonably priced - $450-600.

Again, it depends on your objective. If your goal is 6-700 rwhp from a 6.0, then a billet 7875 is a better choice than an s480. A quicker spooling turbo will be more enjoyable to drive on the street.

My point on the injectors is that for the most part, 80 lb is the threshold where they start to get very expensive. Bosch 80 lb injectors are $360 for a set of 8 while Bosch 210 lb are $600 (Bosch 120s are also $600 making the 210s a logical choice).

I bought a wrecked 13 Camaro SS package from Midwest auto as the starting point for my 87 El Camino build. It was an L99 with a 6l80 transmission. Had Texas speed and customs do the prc head work and multi angle valve job along with an LS 3 cam and valve train set up. Had the trans built for 800hp. The Camaro package came with computers, radiator, steering column, gas tank, shifter, instrument cluster (19k miles on it) brake booster and all accessories (ac, steering pump, etc) on it also for $7500. I have another $3500 in the motor and trans build (parts only). It’s strong, turnkey package that made the process much easier for me. Doing it again I would find a 6.0 and a 408 rotating asssembly and save myself some money

I have to ask- 'turnkey package' - how much did you pay someone to install this?

Also, I was of the understanding a 6L80 will handle similar power to what a 4L80 will - what had to be done to get the 6L80 to handle 800HP?

Had Texas speed and performance do the prc head work and multi angle valve job along with an LS 3 cam and valve train set up and JW customs build the motor. I also had JW build the trans for 800hp in case I decided to force feed it later. the trans has circle D billet hub, billet intermediate shaft, billet output shaft, clutches and a new valve body plate. It is built to circle D stage 3 specs.

I didn’t pay anyone to install it. By turnkey I meant all the pieces to make it work. Just finished up the chassis and hope to get the drivetrain all in over the next week or two.

I would look on car-part.com for a local yard that has a 2012 Caprice 6.0 L76 or L77 drop out. You can often get them with 50k miles, complete with auto trans for 4k.... most overlooked swap engine now
