My buddy brought the summit performance G body 2.5” dual exhaust kit and I have to say for it being 250$ it looks pretty dam good, he did the pipes straight out the back but i agree I would cut them on the bends and have the pipes exit on the corners behind the rear tires.

Thanks for all the responses guys, that’s why I go to the forum and not listen to “Rusty B”
on Jeggs when I need answers lol

Yes, it is easy to cut/modify a "Monte SS" exhaust system so the tailpipes replicate the GN style exits. I did the same thing with the 3" Pypes system I installed in my Grand Prix.

That looks great man, which mufflers did you choose when you bought your pypes kit? I seen that have a few options including the “violator” muffler or something that are crazy loud

I went for minimum restriction and chose the RacePros. They do flow very well, and I'm very happy with them... though sometimes I wish they were a bit louder. But maybe I'm just weird like that.

Oh nice, I was thinking about going with a tamer more mild muffler set up but then putting in 2 electronic exhaust cutouts. It Would be nice, no loud highway drone, but when you wanna make noise just press the button, the butterfly valves open and your makin open header noise aha!

Maybe the guys from Pypes who does the vender posting would look over what has been posted on this forum & updates their catalog listings so the Cutlass isn't treated like an unwanted step child when it comes to exhaust. There is no excuse for any vender not to fully research proper interchanges.

Thank you!

The PO of my car had someone install some horrible fitting long tubes on my car and I want to swap over to a set of block huggers similar in fit to the stock manifolds so I can reinstall the dipstick and have some headers that don't leak. (he cheaped out on the headers but installed a Mondello Mini-Starter and new motor mounts to try make the headers fit; WTF). They also beat the hell out the tubes as well to the point they're oval and probably more restrictive than the stock junk that came off.

My car has the Pypes X-Pipe and mufflers installed already and figured I could order up their down pipes but the application says they only fit SBC Pypes DGU10S (they have a 3 bolt flange also).

You should be able to run the down pipe set that matches your manifolds. I'm using the DGU14S set with my Pypes set (using mid '70's manifolds.) All crossmember back sets can work with all down pipes, keep in mind everything may need trimmed to fit.
