Wondering if you are considering radiant floor heating in the slab?

Considered it briefly. The basement will remain unfinished until after the final inspection is done. Then a small portion on the right side will probably be done and a minisplit unit installed. 70% of the basement will be unfinished storage.

Cool...had to ask...up until early May of this year that was my profession for just over 20 years...hydronic radiant floor heating design. We always said that the pipe is the cheapest part and having a "radiant ready" slab is nice.

Can't disagree that warm feet are happy feet. Just didn't seem necessary for the intended purpose of the space. Plus, I'm still trying to trim about 35k from the original bid. Have it down to 15k over so far. Really hoping to build this house without going to the bank.

Waterproofing and drainage is done.

We meet with the county health guy and septic installer on Monday to discuss requirement specifics. Then the excavator returns to backfill and compact around the foundation. After that, the concrete crew comes back for the next round. Framers should start in early January.

Looks like I neglected to post pics of the boat update. Engine is done. Floor is done. He's moving on to exterior detailing before doing the carpet.
