Ok so I'm trying to locate the casting number on my dualjet carb on the 260 ( 78 Cutlass ) but there's nothing there. It's just blank where the service manual says it's supposed to be.

Did notice some numbers in a circular pattern though; 7045090. This number does not correspond to any of the carb casting numbers in my 78 service manual.

So tell me what I'm missing here!

Edit; OK I found the number. It was in the back of the carb and not on the side where I thought it was supposed to be.

Also I posted this thread in the wrong forum but I don't know how to delete or move a thread so mods, feel free to delete this thread!

I have think that is a reman carb. I am pretty sure it should be stamped like the Qjet with a similar number.

Was it correct for 78? Just curious with the A/C solenoid on it.

Carb is stock. The actual casting number is on the back of the carb and not on the side like a Qjet so I just didn't see it. Why it has an idle speed solenoid in it is beyond me....
