Morning ladies and gents,

John here, joined gbodyforum in 2013 thought i'd finally give my proper introduction. 26, live in new jersey, work for a finance company dealing with repossessions and auctions. Enough of my eharmony profile... i know you all really are more interested in the car. 1985 monte carlo ss, black w/ gray interior purchased the car bone stock w/60k original miles but had been a bit neglected. Purchased the car in 08 from a gentleman who intended to hand the car down to his son as a first car but fortunately for me the son was only interested in driving a bmw or mercedes. I became the second owner of the monte and have been obsessed since.

fast forward some years later and 30k miles of daily driving, cue gbodyforum. Retired the car from daily driving and began working on the car with my father like i always intended gathering parts throughout the years. Some may be familiar with me buying parts off you here and there. Joined gbodyforum and became a complete junkie I need my fix. I don't contribute as I've just been a sponge soaking up the wealth of knowledge here but i can be found on the forum daily reading up. Many thanks are in due to everyone as the forum has been instrumental in getting the monte to where it is today.

The vision was not to have something over the top but something i could just get in and drive, rack up miles and have fun. Currently the car has freshly rebuilt 355 sbc, aluminum heads edelbrock performer intake, quick fuel carb, aluminum radiator, freshened up stock rear with added posi and 28 spline axles, umi suspension. Still need to hook up the AC and work out some of the kinks then off to the body shop where it will receive fresh black paint and the original 85 stripes. Thanks for putting up with this read! - John

Hey Jack, owe you a big thanks acquired that Hurst shifter from you and you were kind enough to provide me with a detailed installation write up along with it.
