I just purchased my 85 Salon with a sbc350/t350 combo. I removed the mini starter and reshimmed it and got the aggravating screech at startup. I also replaced a hacked transmission leaking cooler line with a all metal version. I love my gbody.
Pics or it didn't happen lol! Welcome aboard from KY.

Put some LEDs in the engine bay. They don't help a lot as far as seeing in the dark, but they look cool and I'm usually in the garage with a bunch of lights when I'm working on my car anyways

Braved a snowstorm to go to my local Horror Freight and picked up an air panel flanger. The passenger front floorpan came in while I was out of town, and rather than butt weld it, I'm gonna flange it and weld it. It's only a floor pan, so what's a little more seam sealer!

Got some assembly done. Not near as much as planned, but progress is progress! Got the driver side A pillar, drip rail, and B pillar trim and weatherstrip channel on. As well as the door handle, lock and striker.

With a break in the weather, and a Gov't furlough yesterday, I actually replaced the LR wheel cylinder with a new, slightly larger one ( mentioned in an earlier post) and bled that side. I also removed some window tint installed by the PO. I sold the Weld Draglites that came with it originally, so I am pretty much at "Free" for the cost on this car.

Yesterday me and my friend went to the local salvage yard to try and find a door handle for his el camino. Didn't find that, but I scored a 5 band EQ radio out of a Ciera. Holy CRAP this thing is way louder than my old radio. It's still junkyard fresh so it needs a good cleaning, but it works. Not bad for what I paid for it.

Also, my friend later went with my brother to another junkyard and spotted a Regal that looks exactly like mine. Only difference is power windows and a gold stripe instead of silver.

I think I have that same one in my 89 IROC from the factory

neat. They're decent units that can be found in almost any 84-90ish gm car. Plus I like the factory look. Not a fan of the modern version either, with the CD player, also not a fan of the aftermarket version.
