It would be cool for some like engine masters to do a dyno test on a turbo + supercharged setup vs. a straight roots style blower.

An 800 HP LSA supercharger probably takes 150-200 HP to turn at full boost and in theory, the turbos could completely unload it (pushing the lobes around with air pressure), sending that 200HP right to the crank, netting 1,000 HP.

Ah heck, I like it! I don't mind at all that it was a real GN. Everybody's got a million horsepower now-days. Not to be rude, but there's nothing special about a bone-stock 240hp V6 anymore. Mod it and have fun! Someone else can use the old engine for a clone, and as far as I'm concerned a clone is just as good as the real thing.

I'm also in the minority on here...... if I were in the owners position where I had deep pockets and I didn't have the ability to build my own car.........as an alternative to buying a new Hellcat or ZR1, I would modify a GN in pretty much the exact same way that he did.

Me x3!

A recurring theme, that's ususally the norm amongst the older crowd/cars, is the disdain for someone dropping their car off at a shop to be built instead of building it themselves. I know that most people in my age bracket work full-time, maybe travel a lot for work too, and don't the time or skills to build a vehicle. The "Built vs Bought" argument just sounds like some salty individuals upset that they didn't/couldn't just drop their car(s) off to be built.

That car is sweet and tastefully done.

Only thing I would do is put back the original seats.

Qdub, that's why it's called a "hobby".;)

So people that are financially-able to have their vehicle(s) built by others/shops, as they see fit, aren't considered to truly be into the hobby?

Even if I did have the money to have my car done the way I want it, I still wouldn't drop it off at a shop. Why? What's sounds cooler: "Yeah, I paid for some other dudes to build this." or "Yeah, I built the engine, transmission, and rear end all by myself in my garage with my own two hands.".
I'm just not one of those "pay someone else to do it" people. And I like the concept of the car, but detest the fact he ruined a GN. It wasn't the "best" GN as it was an 86, but it was still a GN. Why didn't he ruin an 84 or 85? No one likes those and can be had for under 5k running and driving in decent shape.

Again, everyone's work/family schedule or skill level does not afford them the time or ability to be able to build their own ride. Kudos to those that have/are building their own car, but that doesn't afford you the right to shun those that have other priorities in life and can't devote the amount of time required to build a car.
