Who all here have installed S10 consoles in their G-Body? I was poking around in the junk yard the other day and peeked in some square body S10 trucks and the consoles look like they'd work in a G-Body.

I currently have a split bench with a B&M floor shifter that due to the passenger seat even in the furthest back position causes it to be mounted further forward than a factory floor shift G-Body shifter would be. I'm thinking if I do a bucket conversion that the S10 console without the shifter mount would work great. But I figured I'd check to see who here has done exactly that before I head to the junkyard to pull one (and somehow the mounting brackets welded to the floor!!).

Good to know! I'll be at Pick & Pull again this weekend, I'll bring a tape measure with me to check one out.

I don't think I could cut one down considering the mounting screws & their location at the bottom, along with the front tray area being rather shallow. Plus I was thinking I might try to mount cup holders in the front tray area so I'll need depth for that.

Main motivation is that if I convert to buckets, I'll need a place to rest my arm! Ha!

I would say if it looks like it might work go ahead and grab it, worse case scenario you can always sell it.
My feeling is make sure it looks at home in there just because you can physically get a console to fit doesn't mean it "fits" the car.
