Ignore the crack in my windshield-
Saw a pair of them at a small southern MN dealer few weeks ago. I am under the understanding they were one of the first ones to start the retro package.
I am split on these.
A) I think its awesome you can get a newish vehicle that isn't white, silver, or beige, I tried pricing out a new gmc pickup and the only exciting color is maroon and dark blue. No green, orange, bright red, ect.
B) It's a gimmick to sell low option used pickups that the dealers can't move. 25k+ for a used pickup is still a LOAD of money. Considering most base to mid tier pickups now start at 40k, they have depreciated a decent amount but still, a lot of people can't afford 25k for a pickup when you can get a 99-06 for sub 10k that will do almost everything just as good. With the 07-13 having as bad of reputation as the do (rust, DOD issues, ect) and the fact that if you can afford a 30k dollar used pickup, you can probably get a 40k one new, the reason to buy a used one goes away quite a bit. Put some stickers on it to make it look like an 80's pickup and there are a lot of guys in their 50's that had one growing up that will "downgrade" to a used pickup or make an un needed move up from a 13 or older (or ford/dodge) to get the appearance package.
