I have the diaphragm and the grey plug still. Did the cruise use the computer at all to work? Any special sensors?

I believe the VSS sensor needs grounded for the cruise to work, grounded through the computer. Just ground the black and yellow wire at the VSS. Make sure the diaphragm in the servo holds vacuum and there is also a module in the system. I think my servo was bad, so my 88's system never did work. I bought a 78 system which was supposed to be good, it was not. I had to ground the actuator and my servo was leaking. Ultrablack smeared over the servo worked really well to fix the leak in the diaphragm. Replacement servos are very hard to find and expensive.
